Summer SZN

It's freaking Springtime, and in a couple of more weeks the shirts come off, the tans come on, flowers are blooming, bugs are buzzing, and God damn it's going to heat up again... Still better than the cold. It's one thing being outside when it's hot; there are different levels to hotness, and you can always cool yourself off in myriad ways. You can swim or get wet, enjoy the breeze, or find some shade, drink cool drinks, and slow down if you're moving... Do you see where I'm going with this?

But when you're cold the only thing you can do is bundle up more or snuggle up more in bed, both of these solutions restrict mobility and limit activity, sometimes making us tired. What the hell am I supposed to do with that?

But really, we all know what time of the year it is. The weather is starting to warm up. The birds are starting to chirp more, and the crops are being planted. Rain is getting a little warmer and maybe just maybe we'll get a warm day with lots of sunlight and without harsh wind conditions, perfect growing conditions.

So, let me ask you valued reader are you planting seeds in your garden yet? Did you know homegrown produce can be tastier and healthier than store-bought products?

But I'm not talking about a real garden. I'm talking about your mental garden, your mindset where you brew ideas and store situations. What ideas grow in your head? and produce fruit or in this case actions that affect your life?

You're going to grow and change as time passes, whether you want to or not. The question is will you grow something to be proud of? Something to enjoy and be happy about?

If you don't actively plan and prepare for these things and plant seeds like a garden time will fly right past your head, and you'll miss the opportunity!

You have to figure out the steps you need to have a successful harvest. Growth doesn't happen overnight, and you may have let some weeds slip into your garden, but you won't get rid of them by doing nothing. Your crops won't grow to its full potential without proper care.

The good news is that growing a great garden happens one step at a time, day by day. Not overnight. Plant the seed, water it, nurture it and be patient.

So what seeds are you planting in your life today? When it's time to harvest will you be happy to reap what you sowed?
