Mental Health or Brain Fitness?
Happy Sunday Everyone, today's post is more serious than most.
I'm going to propose something bold with this post. So, everybody take a seat and brace your core.
Mental Health should be rebranded as Brain Fitness... I mean think about it.
The definition of fitness is the quality of being suitable to fulfill a particular role or task.
So, is your brain able to complete the things you set out to do?
So, let's start a petition to rebrand Mental Health as Brain Fitness! It's catchier and honestly doesn't sound as depressing. Think about it, can you say, "My brain fitness is pretty bad today." with a frown on your face?
Realistically... probably, but you shouldn't because it sounds cooler.
All jokes aside brain fitness is important, and nothing will improve if you don't mentally exercise. Day after day year after year. If you don't, expect your mind to atrophy just like unused muscles. Fewsh they'll be gone and what will you do then?
Strengthen your mind like you strengthen your muscles or lungs. Read a book to help you expand your thoughts, do something challenging and conquer a fear you have. Break your PR of success and do something you've never done before. Be positive in the face of negativity!
Did you know? Exercise is another outlet to help exercise your brain and help with all kinds of mental symptoms. Anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and even brain function can be improved through exercise. So, your regular workout can count as a mental workout at first, but like all workouts without progression & adaptation, the growth will cease.
So, did you get your mental workout in today?
