The Easy Part

What is good everyone!?

Hope your training is causing some growth physically & mentally this week, hope it's been tough!

I've been running ran a 10-mile race to prove some things meanwhile in the gym I'm running Brian Alshrue's Scaled Powerlifter Program and it is Top Notch. Quick heavy workouts with some next-level conditioning. Been gaining weight and muscle slowly but surely so life is good.

Until I heard someone I look up to say that "Going to the gym is the easy part." and that hit me hard.

Just imagine, someone telling you that lifting weights in the gym is the easy part. Moving hundreds of pounds in "weird" movements is friggen easy.

WoW

At first, I'm my thoughts were "Yeah right, you try finding the motivation to do it multiple times of day, at the detriment of some relationships. Being sore and just pushing yourself in general. There is a reason most don't do it." I felt offended and shook it off, or at least tried to.

After some serious reflection, I realized he/Alan was right. Carving out an hour of day is easy, the gym kind of becomes a sanctuary and a home away from home. The hard part is really following up on the workouts with sleep, diet, maintaining stress, researching, and evolving your workouts over time. Compared to managing all that the workout is kind of easy!

I say all this not to discourage you but to warn you. I have and sometimes still do fall victim to the mindset of focusing too much on my workouts, and not balancing my recovery and other aspects of my life.

Just like a well-balanced physic requires even attention the all the muscles a well-balanced life requires you to pay attention to all aspects of your life!

Outlaw Out ✌️
