Being Healthy Doesn't make you Fit!
If you've been in the fitness industry for any amount of time then you know there's a lot of uncertainty around pretty much everything. Most topics are irrelevant but I believe the argument about what is healthy and what is fitness, is important enough to daily lives to debate about.
So straight up NO. they aren't the same. Lets get that off the table.
Being healthy is more of a scientific standard, how does your body operate? Are you plagued by illness or health issues? Any pain or difficulties in your daily life? Does the doctor stress you out when it's time to go?
Fitness can be defined as being of a suitable quality, standard, or type to meet the required purpose. so in our definition/standard the required purpose we talk about is living life. Is your health to a quality that allows you to meet the many demands of life? The demands that children entail, or the demands of daily movement
Health is based on a standard, fitness ask the question is your baselines standard high enough to meet life's demands with no problem?
Arguably you can be healthy, the doctor gives you no slack during your appointment, and yet you may not be able to run and play with your kids as they require. Might not be able to move the furniture around the house and thus you can't meet some of the demands of life. Your fitness is lacking.
Conversely you can also be fit, can move to meet the many demands of life and yet you can still be unhealthy, the doctor can nag you during your visits. Give you a list of things to fix. Because you have high blood pressure and he doesn't care if you can run a mile if your heart is about to give out. Or your blood sugar is to high to justify your bulk and muscle gaining phase, and you have the choice between diabetes and those sweet sweet gains.

So how does this affect your life?
I want everyone who reads this to understand what they're training or exercising for. Because without a purpose we can find ourselves wasting time and going through the motions.
