Having the Endurance to Last
This blog post is dedicated to the tango.
How long can you go?
I mean really how long can you go for? In a battle between two evenly matched opponents, your endurance will be the key to winning.
In life, your endurance is going carry you through this marathon, when things get tough do you get tired or do you catch your second wind?
Say you had to traverse a mile or two in a short period of time or circle the block on foot. Are you going to get tired? Or show up ready to handle the action?
I'm asking all this because with this OG we train for endurance, both physical and mental endurance. That shit is vital, if you cannot go long you can't go far. That's a fact!
Endurance doesn't mean being able to run a marathon at the drop of a hat, although that is one awesome benefit. For me endurance can be defined as having the mental or physical aptitude to last through a situation or multiple situations, real or in your head.
So how do we do it?
It's a mental game, we may run and tack on an extra .1 or .5 of a mile to teach our body to go beyond what we thought was the goal. Or it might entail showing up for every scheduled workout you have planned for the month because it gets tough and you get tired, but will you let that stop you from achieving the results you want? Is the sacrifice and giving up worth the life you envision for yourself?
Maybe the mental game of the day is lasting a bit longer in a burnout sesh than you did before. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you put obstacles in front of yourself and conquer them.
Because this savage endurance-based mindset leaves the gym with you and allows you to tackle life with the utmost confidence.
I'm telling you the human body loves homeostasis, so you must disrupt your natural state and force the necessary adaption onto yourself if you want to be better. Endurance is the vehicle to adaptation, the vehicle that can handle any rough terrain.
