Atomic LIFE CHANGES

WOW, not to nerd out or anything but Atomic Habits by James Clear was an awesome read. Beyond learning one or two more things about the human brain. The book has good pacing, not short but long enough to adequately explain everything. It's broken into four parts, provides a decent number of visuals and graphics for the visual learners out there and the words aren't crammed onto a page. and I swear I got a laugh or two out of it.

It's so good I'm considering having every serious client read it if they haven't already.

If you get nothing else from my post or the book, make sure you remember how a habit forms, in the four steps below. That's the lesson here! Forming good habits and removing bad ones to win in life!

Cue-Craving-Response-Reward

The author James Clear goes back and forth between teaching the reader how their brain works as well as what they can do to counteract their natural tendencies to act a certain way AND reprogram themselves for the better. He breaks down the first steps of mastering a habit!

1. Make it Easy!

2. Make it Attractive!

3. Make it Satisfying!

4. Make it Obvious!

So how does this apply to your life?

Think of all the bad habits you have: your diet not getting enough exercise, not doing enough of what you said, or spreading yourself too thin. I personally struggle with remembering to do a certain task repeatedly and eating towards a specific goal. Atomic Habits gives us an opportunity to change these things and slowly point ourselves in the right direction.

Clear provides several little strategies to help the reader along the way. Some of the most notable could be the paperclip strategy which is just using paperclips in a jar as a visual reminder of how far along you are in your daily task. or the task-reward system and the habit-stacking trick. There are so many you have to read for yourself and check out the sources!

I promise you if you want to change your life this book is the way to do so, if you can't then I'll buy your book from you personally, any day! The most important thing is small marginal improvements can add up and create a whole new world for you.

If you found this even slightly interesting, James Clear has his own blog, filled with bite-sized pieces of handy information that will change your life!
